Citizenship Clinics

Are you interested in becoming a U.S. citizen? These Citizenship Clinics are hosted by the Asian Pacific Islanders Coalition of South Puget Sound (APIC SPS) in partnership with The Korean Women's Association (KWA) to support Legal Permanent Residents (Green Card Holders) in applying for citizenship. Attendees will receive assistance in completing Form N-400 Application for Naturalization.

What to expect at the Citizenship Clinic: We will conduct a general intake, legal screening, form preparation, quality review, copy, and exit with all clients. 

Date: Citizenship Clinics will be held in person on the fourth Thursday of every other month starting in February 2026. Please see more information below. 

 

Time: By appointment only, limited spots available. You may sign up for one session, which may take up to 45 minutes. Please see more information below. 

 

Cost: There is no cost for attending the clinic. But, you must pay a $760 Application Fee to USCIS as part of your citizenship application. If your household income is between FPL 150-400%, the application fee can be reduced to $380. If you receive public benefits (such as SNAP or Apple Health), the application fee can be waived.

 

Location: Thurston county, WA (the exact address will be provided after you register successfully)

Citizenship Class

Are you interested in becoming a U.S. citizen? Besides the clinics, APIC SPS will also offer these Citizenship Classes to help prepare Legal Permanent Residents (Green Card Holders) to successfully complete the naturalization interview and test. This is a 4 month course, where we will focus on building participant’s (1) understanding of the English language, and (2) understanding of U.S. history and of the principles and form of government in the U.S.

Date: Citizenship Classes will be held in person on the fourth Thursday of every other month:

  • May 28, 2026

  • July 23, 2026

  • September 24, 2026

What to Expect: Through the four classes we will practice English (speaking/comprehension, writing, and reading) and Civics (both the old 2008 and new 2025 tests) reviewing American History, Principles of American Government, and Symbols, Holidays, and Geography. 

Time: 5:30pm — 7:00pm

Cost: FREE!

April 18, 2026 Thurston County Homebuying Expo

The Thurston County Homebuying Expo in November 2025 was a great success! We will hold another Homebuying Expo on April 18. Come learn about resources to make your dream of becoming a homeowner come true. There will be workshops and resource tables. APIC SPS is a co-sponsor of this event and encourages you to spread the word, and join us!

The Expo is free and open to the public, no registration needed!

May 1-2, 2026 Thurston Forward DEIB Summit

The Thurston Forward: DEIB Summit is a two-day community experience dedicated to strengthening collaboration across Thurston County through the principles of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging. The Summit opens Friday, May 1st, with a Connection & Networking Experience designed to spark relationships, build trust, and ground participants in shared purpose. On Saturday, the gathering continues with a full day of collective learning, storytelling, youth leadership, and interactive development sessions that will deepen understanding, inspire courageous conversation, and encourage community-centered action.
