AANHPI Heritage Month Celebration
The Asian Pacific Islander Coalition of South Puget Sound, in partnership with the City of Olympia and the Evergreen State College and local community organizations, invite all to join us in celebration of Asian, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander American heritage and cultures. We will have food vendors, performances, and activities for the entire family. The mission of this event is to highlight Asian, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander American communities, cultures, traditions, and experiences. This event is free and open to all.

My Roots Story
What are your immigrant roots? How did you come to call the U.S. your home? We are inviting YOU, the Asian Americans, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islanders, to share your story and make sure our collective experiences are seen, heard, and remembered.
To participate, spend a few minutes filling out this form below for the chance to see yourself featured on the APIC SPS website or social media accounts as a part of the #MyRootsStory project. Your story will help others feel connected to their immigrant heritage and inspire them to share it with the world.
For those whose immigrant stories are under threat or still unfolding due to the current political moment, we realize there are risks to sharing your experience online. Whatever information you choose to share with us will stay anonymous and will only be shared, with your permission, on the APIC SPS website and/or social media accounts as a part of the #MyRootsStory project, launching on May 24. Please share your story before May 19.

Thurston Forward: A DEI Summit for Progress
We had a wonderful conversation during our May DEI Summit! This event fostered collaborative action among community leaders and individuals who are passionate about making a difference. We invited all who live, work, study, or play in Thurston County and are committed to advocating for marginalized groups to come together and take part in solutions. This summit was an opportunity to engage with others who share a vision for a more inclusive, equitable, and just community.

Race Dialogue
Our 6th annual Race Dialogue was held on March 29th, 2025. The goal of this dialogue was to inform us how racism hurts us all, and how we can be effective allies to each other. We aim to empower everyone with the tools needed to have uncomfortable yet constructive conversations in the context of their own unique lived experiences within their communities. This is an opportunity to form collaborations with other like-minded organizations and individuals.
We were joined by speakers: Golden Neal, Fernando Mejia Ledesma, Denise Miño, and Kristin Ang.
Citizenship Applications Assitance Clinics
APIC SPS partnered with OneAmerica and other local organizations to offer a Citizenship Clinic on March 15!
This event was open to legal permanent residents/Green Card holders who wanted to take the next step and become a US citizen. Please note that in order to participate as an applicant, the person must have called or texted in advance to register. The number to call or text was (206) 926-3924. APIC Democracy Summit
APIC's Democracy Summit happened on Friday, September 27th, 2024 at the Tacoma Dome.
Every four years, the Asian Pacific Islander Coalition of Washington holds a Democracy Summit with the goal of encouraging and promoting culturally meaningful and holistic civic engagement in our communities, and creating a space for our communities to collectivize around the issues that matter most to us.
The summit is an opportunity for our culturally, linguistically, and geographically diverse AANHPI communities to come together and make sure our elected officials or candidates see, hear, and understand our collective power. Watch our highlights in the videos below!

Bridging Divides Through Effective Communication

2024's leadership development event, "Bridging Divides Through Effective Communication," was held on Saturday, October 19th, 2024 at the Lacey Community Meeting Room. This event focused on enhancing communication skills, fostering understanding across diverse groups, and developing more leadership skills that can bridge divides and inspire unity.
